Summary
[PSP Minis] Alien Havoc throws back to the classic games era, putting gamers in command of an alien who must pluck cows from farms, load them onto his spaceship, and bring them back to his planet. The farmers, however, won't let their cows go easily. Players must tackle wrapping level layouts, hide and sneak in the cover of tall grass, and throw veggies, rocks or anything else they can at farmers so they can bring the livestock back to their space ship. I'd love to see Alien Havoc 2: Balls to the Walls. You know, a sequel that lets loose and goes for fast-paced twitch gameplay over the sluggish pace of this release. Bite-sized games like this live or die on their addictiveness. And Alien Havoc is not addictive.

If it were a 59p iPhone app it might be easier to overlook such clumsy and uninspired construction - or at least not feel too aggrieved when you delete it - but by staking a place at the top end of the Minis price list, Alien Havoc draws too much attention to its shortcomings.

The core concept is solid, and seems like a perfect fit for a PSP Minis game, but it plays so slowly and frustrates to such a degree that, even at £3.99, it's not worth a punt. Avoid like you would an alien invasion.

Feels like the sort of shovelware your mate sneaked onto the school PCs in 1996. [Dec 2009, p.18]
The Onion (A.V. Club)
The tired wackiness in Alien Havoc could be forgivable if there was more going on here, but as it is, you’ll be contemplating all the other things $5 could’ve bought instead.
