You have good actors working for a proven producer in a proven format. That may not guarantee you a great show, but it could bring you a sturdy piece of weekly entertainment.

If you’re not a fan of procedurals, The Forgotten won’t change your mind. But there’s plenty here to satisfy those of us who definitely are.
Read Full Review >Miami HeraldGlenn Garvin
The Forgotten is strictly old-school, with the investigators pounding the streets in a search for witnesses, putting the case together one painstaking fact at a time. And with a likable cast that includes Michelle Borth and Bob Stephenson, you may find yourself getting interested, one painstaking scene at a time.

The Forgotten is just another run-of-the-mill crime procedural. Nothing more, nothing less.

The concept's as decent as any crime show's, but if the series doesn't get stronger mysteries and better dialogue, it's going to live up to its name pretty fast.

The Forgotten, created by Mark Friedman (writer of the film “Home of the Brave”), is in every way a generic Bruckheimer procedural.

While the pilot is a polished enough product, the term "product" clearly applies. In that respect, The Forgotten might hang around for awhile--but the show proves utterly forgettable.

It's another procedural from Jerry Bruckheimer, so it's not the worst thing you ever saw, except that with its overdone music and underdone lighting, it's a little tough to see (and hear) in the first place.

This has to be the silliest show Jerry Bruckheimer has ever put his name on. It all feels like something scrawled on a cocktail napkin.

Slater has TV charisma, and the rest of the cast is energetic and earnest. But even if you put the reasoning part of your brain on autopilot, you still can't avoid the sloppy melodrama that washes over this show like an oil spill on a coastline.

It's an intriguing, almost theological premise for an investigation series. The problem lies in the way it's presented--with a sledgehammer.

Slater's hamstrung by corny dialogue, as well as a hoaky device that has each episode narrated, in non-specific fashion, by the murder victim in question. Also, the pilot disappoints by giving Slater’s team a chance to solve the case.

Such excellent intentions--and such insipid viewing.

In between a regrettable "The Lovely Bones"-like voice-over from the victim, dialogue that is laughably self-important and ghostly glimpses of the dead, an only barely believable murder mystery emerges.

The show’s slick look doesn’t exactly make up for its dearth of originality.

This grim, underpowered whodunit, narrated from beyond the mortal coil by the unidentified victim-of-the-week, is also something of a “who-is-it.”
Read Full Review >Philadelphia Daily NewsEllen Gray
A little bit "Cold Case," a little bit "Ghost Hunters," The Forgotten pilot has the usual Bruckheimer touches--including music some viewers will complain drowns out the voices--and is narrated by the victim, à la "The Lovely Bones." Frankly, it's creepy. And not in a good way.

The Forgotten goes well beyond familiar as it takes obvious to new levels and hammers home every missing-person and investigative trope you can think up.

I have watched every episode, and for me this is a beautiful escape for an hour. I love Christian Slater and the group . I cry at every end...I am a sap! Good show!
John B gave it a0:
I'm not sure how the onomatopoeia goes, so I'll express it parenthetically...(makes fart sound with mouth).
Nicole K. gave it an8:
Good show & good concept. I might do w/o the ghost images but I hope this one will stick around as I am pretty sick of reality TV.
Dawn M. gave it a9:
It is a very interesting drama. It holds your interest, and you want to find out who did it, just like the CSI shows. I'm pretty sure that the people who are giving it negative ratings wouldn't be able to write a story or plot to know what makes a good drama.
Jessant K. gave it a0:
What the heck was up with the ghostly voice over in the pilot? It was just laughably horrible writing. I couldn't stomach sitting through another episode.
Ed L gave it a2:
Terrible, bored me to tears. I takes the cold case idea and makes it worse, which I can't believe was possible.
Marc P gave it a7:
I have thoroughly enjoyed this show. I think its getting better.
